New version: 31 july 2006

A new version of ASAP Utilities is available: 4.0.1 (31 july 2006).
I have also updated the User Guide. Major reason for this release is a few bugfixes.

  • New worksheet formula: =ASAPSheetName()
    Returns the name of the sheet the formula is placed on.
  • System » Rename current file
    If you specified a filename of a file that already existed that file was overwritten. ASAP Utilities will now ask you if you want to overwrite the existing file. In Excel 2000 the utility made Excel crash when the renamed file was about to be openend. This is now fixed.
  • Sheet » Copy a sheet's page and print settings
    Fixed a bug during the startup of the utility which caused the utility not to work.
  • a few small bugfixes and typing errors.

  1. Bug report
    NONE English MsgBox in sub "rename current file"

  2. I use the "Find your utility (search help)" quite a lot and I think it would be great if there was not only a keyboard shortcut to activate it but that the search results linked to the utilities so I could just double-click a search result to activate the ultility instead of: running the search, reading through the results for the appropriate utility, closing the search, going back to the ASAP Utilities menu and activating the utility.

    And maybe highlight the search criteria in the search results?

  3. Hello Marcin,

    Thank you for reporting this. It was something I used for debugging but forgot to remove when the version went public.

    Hello De,
    At this moment both wishes are not easily possible using the standard tools in Excel. If you use some tools frequently I suggest you put then into your favorites menu.

    Kind regards,
