Pre-release ASAP Utilities 4.7.2

I'm proud to mention that the pre-release of the new version of ASAP Utilities is now available.
You can download it from here.

We've made several (speed) improvements and included a few new tools that are available via ASAP Utilities Options » New tools in development (English only).

One of this new tools can be a huge time saver for people that use find and replace a lot in Excel:
Bulk replace: replace multiple values at once

Bulk replace: replace multiple values at once
This can be a huge time saver for people that need to find and replace a lot in Excel, such as for example translators.
Just specify the values to look for in the first column, and the values to replace with in the second column. Then you can use this table/range and let ASAP Utilities do the rest.
Bulk replace: replace multiple values at once

At this moment the bulk/batch search/replace is done in cell values. We're working on more items to search/replace in, such as formulas, comments and hyperlinks.
Please let me know what you think of it and if we're missing something.

  1. Hi Bastien,

May the Family Live 100 Years !

The long wait is over and this time my wish seems to have been heard………. Though I never expressed it to you. I haven't yet downloaded and tried this, but feel there must be something like "remember history" which make it easy to know "What was replaced with what"…….and which can be used again in a quick manner.

"Delete Number of Leading Characters / Delete Number of Ending characters Utility is also deleting such characters in Hidden/filtered rows too. Is that By Design ?

  3. Hello Kanwaljit,

    Thank you for your feedback.

Yes, that is by design. These tools operate on all cells in your selection.
If you want to excluded the cells in hidden rows and columns within your selection, then you can select only the visible cells first via:
    F5 > Special > Visible cells only

I do see however, that Excel treats hidden rows and columns in a filter different then normally hidden rows and columns.
For example coloring cells via Excel's paint bucket, does included cells in normally hidden rows and columns within your selection. However, if the hidden rows and columns are withing an Excel filter, then these hidden cells are skipped.
For now, all cells in your selection, hidden or not are affected by the tools and you can use the F5 > Special > Visible cells only workaround. But we might change that in the future to better reflect the way Excel works in such a case.

    Kind regards,
    Bastien Mensink
