What's New in ASAP Utilities 9 (Pre-Release)

We're proud to finally share the pre-release of ASAP Utilities 9!
This version has been in development since September 2024 and reflects months of focused work and helpful feedback from users, including insights from the award event and meetup in London.
This is a major update with clearer tool names and descriptions, along with thoughtful refinements to help you save time and do what Excel alone cannot.
Improved tool names and descriptions for clarity
Over the past four months, we've carefully reviewed and updated all tool names and completely rewritten their descriptions in the English version of ASAP Utilities to make them as clear and helpful as possible.
They are now:
- Easier to understand
- More helpful for both native and non-native English speakers
- Even more consistent with Microsoft's terminology
- Better optimized for discoverability
This helps you find the right tool more quickly and understand how it can benefit you, even if you're using it for the first time.
While the names and descriptions of all tools have been improved for clarity, the menu structure remains unchanged.
This way, you can continue to find your tools exactly where you expect them.
Updates for other languages are still in progress. We are collecting feedback to improve clarity in each localization.
Advanced Find and Replace gets smarter
Our Advanced Find and Replace tool now lets you match whole words or phrases, just like in Word.
You can now safely replace words like 'Department' with 'Dept.' without affecting 'Departmental' or 'Interdepartmental'. It even works when the word is next to punctuation, such as slashes, colons, or hyphens.
Other improvements
- Several minor improvements in usability and speed
- Renamed the free Home & Student Edition to Home & Charity Edition (For home projects, study as an individual student, volunteering, or non-commercial use by a charitable or non-profit organization)
- Renamed the Business Edition to Professional Edition (For use at work, in a business, government, or other professional setting)
- Updated installer with more helpful setup info
- Additional refinements under the hood to improve performance and compatibility

Version 9 builds on that foundation with even more care for clarity, precision, and ease of use, without changing what you already rely on.
Supported Excel versions
ASAP Utilities 9 is compatible with Excel 2010 through Excel 2024 and Excel 365 Desktop on any Windows system that meets the system requirements of Excel.
Using your license with version 9
Version 9 is free if your license was purchased in 2022 or later.
Older licenses get a generous 50% discount.
