Question
Does ASAP Utilities work on Surface tablets?
Answer
Surface Pro is supported
On all Surface Pro tablets you can use ASAP Utilities.
Microsoft has released the Surface (1) and Surface (1) Pro, the Surface 2 and Surface 2 Pro and the Surface 3 Pro. (Their latest edition, the Surface 3 is now only released as a Pro version.)
The "Pro" in the name is important, because only the Pro version has the normal/full Windows version and can run the normal version of Office which is required by ASAP Utilities. See also the Microsoft Surface comparison table at: http://www.microsoft.com/surface/en-us/products/overview
Non-pro Surface / Windows RT / Office 2013 RT
The non-pro Surface comes with Windows RT and Office 2013 RT where some functionality is limited.(Office 2013 RT: FAQ | Windows RT 8.1: FAQ). Office RT is a "limited" edition of Office that doesn't support any add-ins.
Microsoft: What Office Home & Student 2013 and Outlook 2013 features are unavailable in Office 2013 RT? - Macros, Add-Ins, Forms, and Custom Programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) In other versions of Office you or a software developer can use tools such as Visual Basic for Applications (VBA) to write and run macros and other custom programs in Office. VBA is not available for the applications in Office 2013 RT. To use macros, add-ins, forms with custom code, or other custom programs in Office documents, you need a version of Office other than Office 2013 RT on a computer or tablet not powered by Windows RT. Other versions of Office cannot be installed on Windows RT devices. For example, Office Home & Student 2013 and Office Professional 2013 support these features but cannot be installed on Windows RT devices. If you already use macros, add-ins, InfoPath forms with custom programs, or other custom programs in your PC or Mac version of Office, you will not be able to use them in Office 2013 RT.
